We left Pharr, Texas at 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning. Drove for almost 10 hours and stayed at Gulf Coast RV Resort in Beaumont, TX. What a nice RV Resort. They even had a free breakfast just like you would get in a hotel.
It was all concrete and pull-thrus with full hooks including cable.
We left there around 9:00 on Friday morning and finally got into Louisiana. Whoopie! We drove over one of those very tall bridges that are made for ocean going vessels. I thought Linda's nose was going to bleed. She finally opened her eyes when we got down the other side.
We stopped at the Visitor's Center when we first got into Louisiana and looked at the lake behind it. The following pictures are kind of blurry because I could not hold still. I was fighting man eating mosquitoes. These things were huge and very hungry.
One sign says watch out for snakes and the other says NO SWIMMING and has a picture of a gator. Where the heck was the picture of skeeters and a warning?
Tonight we are at Ajax Country Livin RV Park. (That is how it is spelled.) This is a nice park. It is not a resort but is still nice. They have a lake that you can fish in and don't have to have a license. It is catch and release. Suppose to be catfish, bass, crappie, and breen in it along with a 3 foot gator and a 5 foot gator. I only got to fish for about 20 minutes and a huge thunder storm with a lot of lightening came in. I hope to try again in the morning. Didn't see the gators but hope I do tomorrow. If so, I will post a picture.
Here are some pictures of the park.
This RV park is about an hour south of Shreveport. We will be going through there when we leave.
So far it has been a GREAT trip. We have seen some beautiful homes and some that weren't so beautiful. It is nice to see green grass again.
