2013-11-24 - I survived

Apparently I have survived.  My wife and two of the other ladies from here in the park left Thursday morning to go to the bottom of Oklahoma to meet one of their daughters and pick up some oxygen bottles for her husband.  The made it to San Antonia and went to the Alamo and the River Walk.  They did a lot of shopping and eating.  I stayed here with the dog.  We got along just fine.

Last night the went to one of the casinos in Oklahoma.  Like normal, Linda only took $20 and quit after losing that.  It's called the cost of entertainment.  Heck I lost at Texas Holdem last night and again today for a total of $10, but it was fun.

Today I did my first smoking on my new electric smoker.  I smoked a chunk of bologna for a friend and a pork butt for myself.

This is the pork butt.  It taste real good but is not as tender as those my son does.  He told me his secret and I will do better the next time.

Here is a small piece of the bologna that Butch gave me.  It taste really good also.

It really smelled good outside while I was smoking.

It was in the low 50s today and the electric smoker held the temperature exactly where I wanted it.  I can't wait until my next time.  Yummy.
