Last Friday we had 80 kindergartners come for a day at the refuge. WOW! Bring back the 8th graders. Actually they were fun but talk about a lot of energy, they have it. All of them seemed to have a good time.
It was cold so they were inside to eat their lunches. The broom and vacuum got quite a workout. And then there was the spilled milk. That is what we are here for and the refuge is here for. People of all ages to come out and enjoy it and learn about all kinds of wildlife.
Saturday we drove to St. Joseph for Mother's Day and spent the night at my son Duane's house. Thank you Amaya for letting us use your bedroom. On Sunday Duane's wife, Amanda had to work until 11:30 a.m. When she got home Duane had made taco salad, baked potatoes, Red Lobster cheese biscuits, and smoked four racks of ribs. He would not accept any help and did it all himself. Everything was delicious.
Duane had also got Amanda and Linda each a huge Mother's Day card, a shirt and a balloon. What a good son and husband. I will take some of the credit for grooming him. LOL
