Yesterday was the 8th grade outdoors day for eighth graders from the schools in the area. We had about 125 of them from seven or eight schools.
First, I want to say that these were some of the most well behaved 8th graders I have ever seen. There were several families of home schoolers also which was neat.
The activities and displays which were set up for them were: Retrieving dogs, Archery, Skeet shooting, Reptiles, The tower was open, Canoeing, Bird IDing, and several other things. The man that donated the bee hive was here and the kids really liked it. They got here at 8:30, ate lunch at 12:00 and then had a presentation about mammals which included a tarantula, parrot, alligator, and I didn't catch the rest.
What a neat group of kids. These smaller town kids really impressed me.
It was a tiring day, but all the staff also enjoyed it.
